What Derek Xiao Has Been Up To Since Leaving BB23

Big Brother 23 star Derek Xiao is having a blast after finally leaving the jury house and finding out that he came close to winning America's Favorite Houseguest at the grand finale. Prior to getting cast on BB23, Derek X. had admittedly only seen two seasons of the show. Nonetheless, he picked up in gameplay very quickly and learned a lot from people like Hannah Chaddha, Tiffany Mitchell, and Claire Rehfuss in the first few weeks of the show.

Impressively, Derek X. not only learned to play the game of Big Brother but learned how to play it incredibly well. During his 51 days in the house, Derek X. won two Power of Veto comps and one Head of Household comp. He used his first veto to take Kyland Young off the block, which was a very bold move for week 1. Then, during his HOH, Derek X. took out one of his biggest physical threats on BB23, Christian Birkenberger.

Now that Derek X. and his fellow jurors have been released from sequester, he is living his best post-Big Brother life. Derek X. has remained pretty close to Hannah, but there is still no official word on whether things did evolve between them. Alas, Derek and Hannah did pose for a picture with the other official showmance of the house, Christian and Alyssa (screenshots below). On that note, Derek X. attended Todrick Hall's informal BB23 after-party along with many of his co-stars. In the many pictures and videos taken at the party, Derek X. was seen having a blast with his fellow America's Favorite Player competitor Tiffany Mitchell. She took the title in the end, but Derek X. was clearly very happy about it.

The after-party hosted by Todrick Hall also featured past Big Brother players who were dying to meet the new members of their BB family. The event included names like Holly Allen, Tommy Bracco, Analyse Talavera, David Alexander, and JC Mounduix, who all posed for an Instagram picture (seen below). Derek X. was clearly very excited to hang out with his BB23 buddies and make new friends. Given that he hasn't seen too many past seasons of the show, it's possible that Derek X. didn't know some of the former houseguests he met last night. Alas, he can always go back and watch their Big Brother seasons if he's ever curious.

As one of the standout characters from Big Brother 23, Derek X. is not disappointing his legion of fans on social media. Overall, it was very entertaining to keep up with Derek X. throughout this season. Producers are hopefully keeping his name in mind for a possible comeback in the future.
