Clinical psychologist Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner wrote "You Are What You Wear: What Your Clothes Reveal About You," and she shared her thoughts with Forbes on how "The Real Housewives" stars dress.

"Look at the way they focus on money," Baumgartner  explained. "When they fight, they use logos and designers as a way to put each other down. They're using clothes and accessories both as a tool to know where they fit in and as a weapon against others." In 2006, the Orange County Register reported that clothes seen on "The Real Housewives Of Orange County" led to many colorful comments from fans.

"Why do all these mothers dress like they're 18? All those tight halter tops/jeans/high heels is nauseating. It makes me wonder how old these gals are going to be when they finally decide they're too old to wear halter tops," one fan wrote. Another added, "Trying that hard to look young only makes you look old and desperate."

In response to thoughts about her attire, Kimberly Bryant stated, "I don't care what other women think," while Vicki Gunvalson simply noted, "I want to make myself happy."
