Elite has been renewed for season 8 by Netflix, with a familiar face marking their return and others joining the popular Spanish series.
Netflix has renewed Elite for season 8, with a familiar face coming back. The teen thriller, which revolves around the relationships between three working-class students enrolled at a prestigious school through a scholarship program and their wealthy classmates, has been airing since 2018. Ahead of Elite season 7, which debuts on October 20, Netflix's longest-running Spanish has received some positive news.
Per TVLine, with production on Elite season 8 expected to begin in August, Mina El Hammani will reprise the role of Nadia. One of the three transfer students, she appeared during the show's first three seasons. She'll be joined by new cast members Ane Rot and Nuno Gallego. They're known, respectively, for their roles in Killer Book Club and UPA Next. It's not currently known how many episodes El Hammani will appear in.
What To Remember About Nadia Before Elite Season 7
The daughter of Palestinian immigrants, Nadia was depicted as academically driven and deeply believes in her religious and personal values. A key storyline involved Nadia being banned from wearing the hijab at school. In the Elite season 3 finale, Nadia moves to New York with her friend Lu to attend university, but her romantic story didn't end there.
The strain of a long-distance relationship with Guzmán ended their relationship, which was illustrated in Elite Short Stories. This led to the two breaking up early in Elite season 4, with Guzmán exiting the series at the end of that same season. While the teen drama, created by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, is known for its thriller elements, the romance sagas have been just as eventful.
El Hammani isn't the only Elite alum who will soon return. Omar Ayuso, who portrayed Nadia's brother in the first five seasons, will appear in the forthcoming seventh installment. It could be a chance for lapsed viewers of the Spanish soap to tune in and catch up with some old favorites from when the show first started.
