There are four dragons in Zelda: TOTK including Naydra, Farosh, Dinraal, and the Light Dragon. Each has its own unique path and materials to farm.
There are four Dragons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and each one has its own designated path that it will continuously follow. Each Dragon also has certain properties about it that make its materials worth harvesting for weapons as they're not only strong but usually give weapons elemental damage.
The four Dragons in Zelda: TOTK are Naydra, Farosh, Dinral, and The Light Dragon. While the first three are not new, the Light Dragon in Zelda: TOTK is. Its scales will not offer any unique elemental properties like the others, but it does hold something else very special, so it's worth tracking down.
Where To Find Naydra, The Ice Dragon
Naydra has a relatively small path primarily circling near Mount Lanayru. Chances are, if Link has spent any time in Zelda: TOTK's Hateno Village, he may have seen Naydra passing through as the Dragon comes very close to the Lab at the top of the hill. Naydra's full path takes about thirty minutes to complete, with about 2/3 of that being spent on the surface and the other 1/3 being spent in The Depths. If looking to hop onto Naydra, one option is waiting at the Lab in Hateno village, then using some sort of flying vehicle to help Link get high enough to reach.
If having trouble tracking the Dragon down, Link may also use the nearby Skyview Tower to find Naydra and paraglide down. Naydra, being the Ice Dragon will have materials that give off icy properties. As one might suspect, that also means the surface of Naydra is pretty chilly.
If Link doesn't have the right clothing, such as the Cold Resistant Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as well as some Cold Resistant recipes, then he may not be able to land without taking damage or potentially dying. So be sure to be ready before seeking out Naydra.
Aside from the Light Dragon, the other three all travel into the Depths at some point. Therefore, if trying to land on them in the sky seems like too much work, simply head to one of the Chasms they enter or exit from and wait until they appear then just jump onto them.
Where To Find Farosh, The Lightning Dragon
Farosh, the Lightning Dragon, flies near the Lightning Temple in the Gerudo Region, which players may have expected. Its full path will take about thirty-five minutes to complete and unlike Naydra, Farosh will spend almost half of its total path underground in the Depths. Mainly when circling the southern part of Lake Hylia and passing under the Faron Grasslands.
Therefore, if hoping to reach it, Link will have the best luck when it is on the most northern half of its path when it is above ground and passes very close to two separate Skyview Towers, one of which is the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in Zelda: TOTK.
Unlike Naydra or Dinraal, Link does not need any special resistance to land on Farosh. Despite that players might suspect to take Shock Damage, Farosh can be easily interacted with. The only aspect to look out for is that there will be occasional electric orbs coming off the dragon that can do a little damage if not careful, but they're easy enough to dodge. Be sure to take advantage of all the different types of materials available, but be warned that when harvesting anything other than collectible scales, there will be a sort of "cool down" time before Link can gather more.
Where To Find Dinraal, The Fire Dragon
Dinraal, The Fire Dragon, will to no surprise be found along the outskirts of Death Mountain, where the Moragia Boss fight in Zelda: TOTK takes place. Unlike the other Dragons who all tend to have a very circular route, Dinraal follows a much more linear path. He will fly from Point A to Point B above ground and then from Point B back to Point A underground and repeat.
His total path takes about forty-five minutes to complete and due to how linear it is, half of that is on the surface and half is in the Depths. Players may choose to use the Skyview Tower in the Eldin Region to reach Dinraal, but only when he's west of Death Mountain.
When he is on the East Side or in The Depths, the best spot to wait for him is the uppermost corner to the East of the map, where the research lab has been turned into a Yiga hideout. Defeat the Yiga hanging around and then climb to the top and wait for Dinraal who will fly very close to the building. Unfortunately, being the Fire Dragon, Link will need something like the Flame Breaker armor and some health-repairing Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom recipes in order to actually land on Dinraal. Alternatively, Link can also use arrows to farm materials from a distance and collect the materials when they fall.
Where To Find The Light Dragon
The Light Dragon is the newest Dragon to Zelda and perhaps the most important in the game. While it may not have any elemental properties to provide through its materials, they are still very powerful and work just as well. Additionally, the Light Dragon has something even better to offer. The Master Sword in Zelda: TOTK is going to be found on its head. Unfortunately, the Light Dragon won't make it easy to obtain as it has the largest flight path and never goes into the Depths. Therefore, it will continuously be difficult to reach, unless players complete the Dragon's Master Sword quest first.
When unlocking the Korok Forest and helping the Deku Tree or after collecting all the Dragon Tears, Link will receive a quest specifically associated with the Master Sword. Triggering this will mark the Dragon's location on the map and make it easier to find. Additionally, it will also lower itself, as its normal path is very high in the sky and unreachable with Skyview Towers. The path it follows in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom basically takes it in a circle around the whole map and its total route takes over an hour to complete, so while finding it is worth it, it will not be an easy task.
